Vessel (2025)
Vessel turns to fractal geometry as both a visual language and a metaphor for human continuity. Fractal proportions can be traced in all natural forms of life — and as part of nature, we are no exception. We are not separated from it, but are one of its recurring patterns.
At the heart of the composition is the Golden Heart fractal, the intersection of two Golden Spirals. This fractal nature of self-repetition also manifests in the symbolism of the human figure. Turning to familiar associations: humans have long been linked with the star — a form that infinitely generates itself. The association with the star also makes sense when considering the proportions of the body. Like a star, a human gives birth to new life — similar to herself. A woman holds a child close to her heart — she becomes the space through which life continues itself.
The static composition reflects the dynamic process unfolding within this tender form. Birth appears not only as a biological event, but as a fractal continuation of life, formed by the first and strongest force — love.
